The 18th session of the Bihar Assembly began on Monday, December 1st, with newly-elected members taking their oaths of office. The five-day session saw Pro-tem Speaker Narendra Narayan Yadav overseeing the proceedings, administering the oath to all 243 members.

The Bihar Assembly commenced its new session with the election of a new Speaker and displays of camaraderie across party lines. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Prem Kumar secured the Speaker's position, while newly elected Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) took their oaths.
